Thee Martian Boyfriends, (from Belgium) Garage POP, mixing their love of ‘Back To The Grave’ style albums, with a hint of THE UNDERTONES. What could be better than that?

It's been exactly 10 years since the release of their self titled debut CD. Things changed radically in this period of time. Eric St. John is the only remaining original member of Thee MARTIAN BOYFRIENDS. From a quartet now reduced to a 3 piece. New comers are drummer PAUL HAMESSE and IRIS St JOHN who is now playing bass.

Both Eric & Paul also play in VICE BARRONS (one of the leading Belgium Garage Rock bands)

The sound of the band has also evolved during this period of time.

These days, the fuzz is still there but way more in the background of the songs. On most of the tunes, clean, drenched in reverb guitars are mostly playing in the foreground and they wrap all these newly recorded tracks up in some melancholic mood.

Thank you, The music is very varied, many wonderful melodies from haunting keyboards and primitive guitars. It reminds me of Paul Revere & The Raiders, but once the opening track ends, all the similarities disappear and we get lost in the great beat and sound that could only be The Mourning After. It is a real pleasure to witness. Musically speaking, these guys always impress!!! naz-nomad
